Francesco Carusone

Postby tonij16102 » 03 Apr 2009, 14:16

I am back once again asking for some help.

Francesco Carusone immigrate to America around 1910, leaving wife and 3 small children in Bellona Caserta.
Apparently he died soon after.(never returned home) His parents names were Giuseppe Carusone and Maria Giuseppa Caserta. He was born on Feb. 2 1876. Francesco married in Bellona on Nov. 20 1900 to Carolina De Rosa.
We don't know where he disembark. I wish to find out where he's buried....

Any help would be appreciated once Francesco came to America he never returned to Italy and the family is thinking he probably started a whole new family here. Any help would be appreciated as always.

Thank-you,
Toni

Toni,

He died in Youngstown Ohio in 1914. Here's his death certificate. Note the informant's name, Tony Carsone (Carusone). Date of birth and parents' names match your information. He died due to brain damage caused by a fall from a street car. Place of burial is on certificate as Catholic Cemetery, Hubbard Ohio.

Thank-you for this and yes this family changed the spelling of this name also some even went from Carusone to Ross and some spelled Carsone also at times making it hard the people in the family to find them. Did he remarry here in the states? It is thought that he probably did. Thanks again. Wonderful find!! Thank-you

Hi Valarie I also found a manifest this morning placing him in Boston going to his brother Antonio, so this all makes me confused along with spelling of the last names.

Thank-you all so very much I know this information will make the family members sad but also will help bring some type of closure also in knowing what really happened to him and where he is buried and actually not far from where I am. I'll go to the cemetery and take a picture of his graveside for them.

Thank-you all so much.

I'm not sure what to make of this 1902 manifest for a Francesco Carusone from Bellona born about 1876 with a destination of Boston to join brother, Antonio. His marital status is single; not been in the US before.

Toni, is this the manifest you found?

Toni,

You might find the following site where I located Francesco Carusone's death certificate helpful; it has Ohio death records from 1908-1953.

You might want to ask the town of birth (or the town where he was living when he left) for a copy of the death certificate. They are often kept in a different part of the register as they were forwarded from the Italian Consulate in America. I found two such certificates in Italian comunes registered about a year after the actual death. These records contained information about the accident, the funeral home, the hospital where the injured was treated and the cemetery.

Could anyone please help with this request also. Is there anyway to get any information on Francesco's brother? I am needing information on Antonio Carusone he was the informant on the death records for Franceso would like to know if Antonio was married and if he had any children.

Thank-you,
Toni
