newbie searching for Demartino and Rossi

I am searching for Ada Rossi (maiden name Demartino) born in Naples, Italy lived in Lucca, Italy Sisters Eda, Anna, Vonda, Anna and brother Carlo do not know any dates but sister Vonda was born in 1919. Mother's maiden name Maria Gulia married Felice Demartin. My friend is going to Italy in September and would like to find out anything she could before she gets there. Thank you so much

We will be able to help you search better if we had some more information. For example, who were the immigrants? Where did they settle when they got here?
Ships' manifests will give a clearer idea of the exact comune of birth and possible names of family members still in Italy. Then we can begin to look for family still in Italy today.

Sorry I don't know a lot of information. But Anna was in Coneticut and Vanda went to Rosi, Minnesota and married (Hovland) lived there till she died. Anna maried name Schalich she lived in Trumble, Conneticut that is about all I know. They did grow up on a Street 66 Vianuova (hope the spelling is right) Thank you for helping it is greatly appreciated.

Not much help, but a possible obituary for Anna DeMartino's husband Frederick W. Schalich

SCHALICH Frederick W. Schalich, age 82 of Trumbull, died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at St. Joseph's Manor. Mr. Schalich was born in Bridgeport and was a Trumbull resident all his life, where he went to Center School and was a member of the Trumbull Rangers football team. He was an Army veteran serving in Italy, where he met his wife, Anna. He enjoyed boxing and cooking while in the Army. He was a teamster, employed at UPS. He also enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. He was the widower of Anna DeMartino Schalich. Survivors include two brothers, Richard Schalich of Meca, Wash. and William and his wife, Jacqueline Schalich, of Trumbull; and several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his Caregiver, Edith Aggi and his Geriatric Care Manager, Lisa Krauss. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road and at 9 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment in Mt. Grove of Easton Cemetery.
