Sarno and Amatucci from Avellino

Postby MyCamper » 09 Apr 2009, 00:32

My grandparents. Alphonso Sarno married Maria Amatucci and arrived at Ellis Island in early 1900's. They lived on Sammis Avenue in Dover, New Jersey USA. Four children. Mary Concetta born 12-31-1923. Then Josephine, Maffalda and Eugene. My name is Bonnie Sharon (Sarno) (Utter) Muncey. My mother is Mary Concetta (Sarno) Utter. I'm looking for family in Avellino or area. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello Bonnie!
If this is your grandfather Alphonso Sarno’s ship manifest, it appears he was from San Potito Ultra, in the province of Avellino.

If you are interested in tracing the family further back in time, the town of origin has been microfilmed by the Lds. The civil records cover birth, marriage and death:
