I know very little about my heritage other then Ross Tumminia came from Palermo by boat as my great grandfather. My Papa, John Tumminia was 1 of 7 from Brooklyn, NY. With little Family information its hard to trace any relatives other then my immediate Aunt and Uncles. Any ideas where to start? I dont have too much contact with my family at this time.

Adding to the geneology search for Rosario Joseph Tumminia. He was actually the first born of nine in the U.S. - born on 3rd ave in the bowery of NYC. He married Anna Spardillo who came from Italy when she was seven years old. They lived in a brownstone at 842, 40th street between 8th and 9th ave, in Brooklyn, NY. Anna passed away in 1976 of a series of strokes, Rosario then moved to Florida where he passed somewhere around 1983-84. This ring a bell for anyone?

Thank you very much Valarie, as you can see, my Mother (terryt57) and i are very interested. I appreciate the assistance. we'll keep digging and post up on what we find out if we need any more help. Again, thank you.
Are you able to find out any information on Anna Sbardella? She had a very sad life coming to America. I know her american history but nothing about the town where she came from. I would think she came from Italy around 1923. Thanks in advance.

thank you Biff - we know that my grandmother became an orphan with her brother when her father and sister died during immigration - one on the boat, the other within a few months. We did not know where she was originally from in Italy nor what orphanage she was in. It's a start - we will try to find out more.
