Sforza's from Prezza, L'Aquila, Abruzzi to Boston,

Postby LaBud » 03 Jul 2009, 19:06

Hello and Happy 4th of July to everyone. :)

We are totally confused at this point and once again need help.
We are working off a previous post:
19 Dec 1903, SS Vincenzo Florio, Napoli to NY
lines 23-25

Sabatino Sforza 62 (abt 1841)
- widower
- last residence Prezza
- destination Pittsburgh PA
- joining son Giuseppe at 810 Webster Ave (very common address on manifests for Pittsburgh)
daughter Bambina 15 (abt 1888)
- single
daughter-in-law Gemma Spadoccia (Spadorcia) 39 (abt 1864)
- married
- joining husband (?) Sforza

We have now figured out that Guiseppe left McKeespot, Pa. at some point and went to Boston, Ma. to the famous (North Sq.) which we have now renamed the "Grand Hotel" seeing every family member has arrived there. :)
However we have now learned that Sabatino had other sons that came here from Prezza and their names are Luigi, and Pasquale Sforza.
Another relative Caesidio Sandonato (North Sq.) has a nephew arrive from Prezza, who is Francesco Sandonato. Living there also is also the "Guisseppe Sforza" from McKeesport, Pa.

Now we are trying to locate Sabatino's sons Luigi/?spouse and Pasquale/?spouse who came from Prezza and also if Guisseppe married an Antonia and all 3 brother's moved to Quincy, Ma.
Unable to decipher at all the 1st name of the Sforza that Gemma Spadorcia married.

I hope that this all makes sense. I try to find as much as I can on my own but then have to ask for help when I come to these types of roadblocks.
Thankyou for everything. :)

Hi!
Here's the link to the manifest
possible 1903 manifest
You're right, the abbreviation for Gemma's husband's name is hard to read.
My guess - Ple. Pasquale

Sforza family

It appears that Giuseppe Sforza moved from McKeesport to Boston between Dec 1903 and Jun 1905

possible 1905 manifest

1 Jun 1905, SS Prinzess Irene, Naples to NY
line 25

Luigi Sforza 24? (abt 1881)
- married
- last residence Prezza
- destination Boston MA
- joining brother Giuseppe

probably traveling with line 24 - Francesco Sandonato 16
Another relative Caesidio Sandonato (North Sq.) has a nephew arrive from Prezza, who is Francesco Sandonato.

Hi Valerie,
Once again, you are Brilliant! :)
My brother and I were taken back by all the info that was uncovered with the Sforza's.
Our Maternal Grandmother is Bambina Sforza married to Antonio Spadorcia, and thanks to this wonderful site, we were able to obtain all the info about her brothers and their familes. Most of this info we were not aware of.

In an earlier post on Spadorcia, you found that our Grandfather Antonio had a brother Michele (Michael), posted on the 1910 Census in Quincy Ma., that we were unaware of. It states he was married for 17 yrs. at that time.
We know now that he originally came to Boston to brother Antonio's at No. Square, (like everyone else :)
Is it possible for anyone to trace Michele Spadorcia in Quincy, Ma. or Niagara Falls, N.Y., wife's name and any children from that marriage? Not sure if he had children in Italy or even Boston and then went to Niagara Falls, N.Y. or stayed in Ma. My brother John is going by info he received from a (92 yo cousin)
We are trying to establish where and when he died and who he had for family. Names come up like Vito, Domenico, Bambina Spadorcia but we don't know if they belong to Michele or not.

Also looking for the spouse of Maria (Ferrelli) Spadorcia
Her sons are/were Domenico (? Spouse/children) and Nunzio Spadorcia (? Spouse/children) who came to Boston and took up residence at 37 Winthrop St. Clinton, Ma.

I apologize if this post is too long. JLMK ;)

As always, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Ciao, LaBud

Thankyou Val, you are a Gem! ;)

Yes, all that info fits in, however it wasn't until I read the manifest for Michele that he left his wife in Prezza. So the info I posted that she lived in Clinton, Ma. with her sons was incorrect.

I just found their son Domenico arriving Sept. 19. 1920 on the SS Patria, leaving his mother Maria Ferelli in Prezza, and he going to his brother Nunzio's in "Clinton, Ma." (same address I posted above)
I don't know how to post that Manifest here. (:

Now to find if Maria ever came here is another brick and also if Nunzio or Domenico ever got married and had children. Whoops, more bricks. :)

I need a Margharita just about now. ;)

Ciao, LaBud

We owe you big time. I'm sure Brother John will come up with something unique. :)
I'm going to try and post that Manifest for Domenico Spadorcia according to your directions. Here goes:

Goodmorning Everyone,
I got a new "assignment" from Brother John, but I have spent the last 2 days coming up with nothing, only what was posted here earlier from a wonderful person. :)
Luigi Sforza 24? (abt 1881)
- married
- last residence Prezza
- destination Boston MA
- joining brother Giuseppe

Trying desperately to gather any info on Luigi Sforza after he arrived here, and joined his brother Guisseppe. It says he's married...
Trying very hard to find the Wife's name/children. Is it possible Luigi too could have married a Spadorcia?

Also a Donato Spadorcia shows up at Pasquale Sforza's in McKeesport, Pa. saying he is his B-I-L...another inter-marriage maybe?

Now we know all these people are related, just trying to find the right connection between them.

Luigi Sforza's wife and children (if any) remain a mystery right now as well as Donato Spadorcia's connection to Pasquale Sforza.

Very confusing, however,As always, any help is much appreciated.:)

Grazie, LaBud

OK, it took me all this time to figure out that Donato Spadorcia is B-I-L to Pasquale Sforza who was married to Gemma Spadorcia.
It appears that Donato came here a few times. McKeesport, Pa. and also Boston, Ma. (if this is the right Donato)
According to the Manifest, Donato left his wife Vincenza Spadorcia in Prezza.

http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0002

Now my questions are...is Pasquale Sforza our Grandmother Bambina's brother? Which one of the Spadorcia's is Donato related to?

Now isn't my brother John going to scratch his head over this one. :?

Now I definitely need a Margharita because I am sooo :?

This Manifest shows #3, 7, 8, 9 going to our Grandfather Antonio's at the "Grand Hotel"

I just love a good challenge, this one is it!
