Carmen Navarroli/ Bambina Spadorcia ...Boston, Ma.

Postby LaBud » 17 Jul 2009, 01:42

Goodevening Everyone,

We are looking to obtain any information on the following "relatives."
Here is what we have acquired so far.

Bambina Spadorcia B: 21/12/1919 Prezza, L"Aquila, Abruzzi.
Her parents were Francesco Spadorcia and Loreta Ferrelli. She may have had 1 brother. (? name)

Bambina married:
Carmen Navarroli B: 27/12/1912 in Boston, Ma. Suffolk County)
His parents were Stefano Navarroli and Maria Rosatone.
Carmen had siblings that were born in Prezza, L'Aquila, Abbruzzi and came to the USA...not sure when or their names.

When and where did Bambina come to the USA? We know that her parents remained in Prezza.
When and where did Carmen's parents come to the USA to Boston, Ma. (Suffolk County)

Bambina and Carmen had 3 children in Boston, Ma. (Suffolk County)
1st child was a baby boy that died, 2nd was a daughter Loretta, and a son Stephano.

We are trying to tie in the Spadorcia's, Navarroli's, Rosatone's and Ferrelli's who are all related to both our Maternal and Paternal Grandparents.
No luck at finding them on the Census or other sites with the limited access I have.
Any information at all is greatly appreciated by my brother John and me.

Any day now we will be growing tails for sure. LOL

Mille Grazie to all you wonderful people.

Goodmorning to all,

Overnight update on Bambina and Carmen....

Bambina left Naples on or around November 14, 1937 for the USA.

Carmen's father Stefano, shot a man on the piazza in Prezza - a matter of honor. That is when the whole family emigrated to Boston and also where Carmen was born. The family got word that the man did not die, so they all went back to Prezza.

Carmen came back alone as a young teen since he was born here and a U.S. citizen.

There is no doubt that Carmen must have headed right to No. Square, Boston to stay with all the Pizzani's at the "Grand Hotel"

We are not sure when or where Carmen and Bambina got married, but at some point they settled on Everdean St.,started a family and then moved to Tilesboro St. (Dorchester,Ma. Suffolk County)

Bambina was the one who came and took my infant brother and I to her house and cared for us when our Maternal Grandmother died. She was "very special to me and I to her"

Bambina is a Spadorcia and so isn't our mother. Now Brother John has the task of putting all this info together on "his Board" along with the Navarroli's, Rosatone's, and Ferrelli's who are all related to us! Whew!
I see the tail getting longer by the day.

We are reaching out to all you wonderful people to ask for your help in finding more of "our family"

Mille Grazie

Hi Val and Laura,

Yes, you hit another "Bingo" for us. Thankyou once again for all this info. The tail is growing, keep them coming. :D

I can't read the manifests with Imageshack and just tried to get them from Ellis on both Bambina and Carmen, but they don't have the years listed with those ships. :(
You take a bunch of bricks down for us and then I go and put some up. :?
Well at least I tried, right? :)

I am hoping that Bambina, Carmen and kids are going to show up on some Census in Boston, Ma.

You are all so appreciated.

Ciao, LaBud

I checked Laura's manifest links - they're working now.
When the small image comes up on imageshack, click on it for a larger version

Thankyou Val,
Now I can read them and find that Bambina is on the boat with 16 yo, Nunzio Spacone, who left his mother Carolina "Forcucci"in Prezza, to head to Niagara Falls to be with his father Luigi.

Then to see Carmen's 1st trip here, he headed right to his Uncle/ our Paternal Grandfather Giovanni Pasquale's on Salem St. Boston, however on his next trip he was traveling with Carmen "Forcucci" who just happens to go to Quincy, Ma. to our Maternal Grandfather's.

This just all amazes me each and every time and is all exciting, gives one chills when you see it all in black and white.

Is it correct to assume that there are no Census records past 1930, so no further info can be obtained on Bambina and Carmen?

I have to leave now. My "tail" is growing even longer.
I'll be back.

Hello,
I think it paid off staying up half the night searching. I maybe onto to something good here. :D

I believe I found the manifest for Carmen's mother, Maria Rosatone arriving in Boston to be with her husband Stefano. I can't decipher her father's name that she left in Prezza.

Page 1 Line 10

http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0010

Page 2 Line 10

http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0010

It gets even better: Could it be that # 12 is Stefano's brother and # 13 is Maria's brother????? That would be a huge Bingo! :D

Page 1 Lines 12 & 13

http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0012

Page 2 Lines 12 & 13

http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0012

Now we all know they must have headed right to the "Grand Hotel" at No. Square to talk about their trip over.

Is it possible that Maria and/or Stefano could be on the 1910 Census or did they miss it? Carmen was born in Boston in 1912, that's what makes me :?

I'm giving myself a pat on the back for these. :o Now my brother has an assignment to do.
I'm proud of myself!

Hi!
Great manifest find - congratulations.
It appears that Navarroli may be misspelled as Navarrone

line 10 Ma Rosa Rosatone 31 (abt 1881)
- can't decipher father's name in Prezza
- joining husband Stefano Navarrone at 61 Charter (?) St
line 11 son Domenico Navarrone 5 (abt 1905)
---

Since they arrived on 12 April 1910, they should be on the 1910 census

enumerator's instructions for 1910:
Column 3. Name of each person enumerated.—Enter the name of every person whose usual place of abode on April 15, 1910, was with the family or in the dwelling place for which the enumeration is being made.

---

Could it be that # 12 is Stefano's brother and # 13 is Maria's brother?

I agree, you've found more relatives!

line 12 Gennaro Navarroli 50 (abt 1860)
- in Prezza wife Mara Stella Zaccardelli
- in Boston 1901-6
- joining brother Stefano Navarroni at 61 Carter St (Charter?)
line 13 Luigi Rosatone 36 (abt 1874)
- in Prezza wife (?)
- joining brother-in-law Stefano Navarroli

Well Folks,
After more research, (I just love it) I now believe I do have the right manifest for Carmen's mother, Maria Rosatone traveling with a 5yo son, Domenico.
This is what I have come up with in the last several days.
These were Carmen's siblings, none of which I can find except Domenico who I know returned to "Sulmona"
Antonio (deceased); Benvenuta or Minuccia in the dialect (deceased), Domenico (lives in Sulmona); Nunziata (deceased) her son is still alive and his name is Fernantzo (Freddie)
Freddie is cousin to sisters Vanda Cicerone and Anita Fezzuoglio (deceased a few years ago) but I don't know which of the above could be either their mother or father.
I do know they all lived in Boston (No. End) when I was very little.

My next step is to touch base with my brother to see if he has been able to connect the dots on who the parents were of these sisters.
It is my hope they (Carmen's sibs) show up on a Census somewhere in 1920-1930

Continuing on my search and wishing everyone a beautiuful day. :)

Ciao, LaBud

Hello all.
If anyone has the time and can help me with this one, I would be truly greatful as always.
I was perusing through the little access I have on Ancestry and I came across most of the names in my last post but I can't get at them. I tried to find them through Ellis with no success, which I don't understand what I'm doing wrong not to be able to find them.

They are listed under New york Passenger list 1820-1927

Here are the names listed:

Nunziata Navarroli
Benvenuta Navarroli
Anita Navarroli
Vanda Navarroli

It appears they along with many others arrived in N.Y., no date/year given for me to go any further.
I recognize the names Pasquale, Gentile, Sandonato.
I even see where it says Bambina Spadorcia & Carmine Navarroli.

This would be awesome to get either the year they sailed and I could try to look for their Manifests or get a clue as to where to find the Manifests.

I'm excited to find these names but I don't want to get my hopes too high just yet.

Mille Grazie

Hi!
There isn't much information on later manifests
The Ellis Island website only goes thru 1924
The rest are mostly on ancestry. com
I think the free library version includes manifests, but you have to be in a library that subscribes to ancestry to use it on their computers..

Hi

I received a link to this site and your postings.

I am Stefano Navarroli, the son of Carmine and Bambina.
Most of the information I've read on your site is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I'm curious as to who you are and if we have ever met.

Steve
