Word Meanings in Marriage Atto

Postby ethella » 20 Jul 2009, 20:57

Attached are two marriage attis. Each shows the letters after the name of the month and also the impediments.

In looking for information about our family from Baldissero Canavese, Torino, Italy we have found some words for which we don't know the meanings.
The first is pure or sire appearing after the month and before the word "mese" in the document. Can someone help me with the meaning of this?
The second group of words appear after the word "impedimento" and read " terrzo quisita or something similar grado di consanguinity". Can someone help us with this?
Thank you very much.

Hi,
it's not easy to understand as you write what it looks to you and could be spelt wrong. The word "pure" in Italian means "also" or "too" but not knowing the rest of the sentence doesn't make much sense.

"Terrzo quisita" is not correct and I don't understand what it means. May be is connected to the "grado di consanguineità" which means "blood relation degree". So either there are no obstacles (a marriage?) as there is a distant blood relation degree or on the contrary the marriage is not possible because they are too close relatives.
If you post the image you'll get a proper explanation as mine is just a guess.

Uantiti is right - without seeing the phrase in the document then context is difficult to establish.

I think one word should be QUESITO - this means: acquired: acquired rights.

So it 'might' mean that for inheritance, titles etc. the individual is third in the bloodline.

But this could probably be solved very quickly if you post an image of the document.

We have great team here who can assist you with translations, but it is much easier for them to do so when looking at the actual image.
A very easy to use website for posting documents is Imageshack or Photobucket.
