Findingt he root s of Sam Bennett (from Italy)

Postby dcbennett73 » 03 Aug 2009, 03:19

I am working on getting more information on my GGrandfather Sam Bennett. His birth certificate says he was born in Longwood, LA, but we are fairly certain his name is a variant of an Italian name perhaps Salvatore Benedetti or Benetti????? He was born 25 Mar 1883, but rumor is he came from somewhere in Italy. I have no info on his parents and he had no apparent siblings. I am lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello!

If this is your Sam Bennett's Death Certificate from Utah in 1942, it has
his Social Security number.

(Utah death certificate from the FamilySearch Pilot)

His Social Security Application SS-5 ($27) may answer a few of your questions.

Note: His SS# was issued in Utah between 1936 and 1942
