Welcome to IG!!
Can you be more specific? Are you looking for records here in the US or Italy? Do you need help in locating records? Or just hoping to connect with others researching these same names/location??

I am looking for both US and Italian records. However, I have little information to go on. My grandfather Angelo Barbieri was born in Paternopli, Prov Avellino, Naples in 1890. My grandmother was born in Valliaminia, Prove Avellino, Naples in 1888. At this point I only have no month or day of their birth. I believe they met & married in Philadelphia, PA. Any help you can provide as to where to begin my search is greatly appreciated.

Yes, this information does belong to my family! My grandfather was a barber; since my last inquiry I found my father's baptismal paper which indicated they lived on Annin St. My grandmother's name is Clotilda Ferrara, and my Aunt Jo was born in 1919.

Grazia tanti! for all of your help and information!

James (ie Girolamo) was my grandmother Clotilda's brother!
I have searched Ellis Island for Angelo, Clotilda & Girolamo without success. Is there somewhere else I can search to learn more about when they arrived in US?
Thank you so much Valarie for providing me with this additional information!

Hi Angela
You're right - your ship manifests are hard to find :? .
They may be badly transcribed or they may have come thru a port other than NY
Ancestry. com has a really great collection of manifests from many ports.
Ancestry is a pretty expensive subscription that is also available for free at many libraries.

No doubt we already have other members looking too.

Valarie,

Yes, Clotilda did have a sister Ermilinda.
There is another sister named Julia.
Ermilinda was married to Gaetano Maruzzi.
Julia was married to Luigi Mori.
This is the extent of sibling informaiton that I have.

The 1910 census information given above does NOT belong to my family.

Unfortunately I do not know the names of my paternal great grandparents. I believe that Clotilda's father was a pharmaist.

I will need to look further into the 1907 manifest information provided above.

Angelo did have 2 other brothers - names unknown - one immigrated to Argentina and the other to Australia.

You are great - I can't thank you enough for all of your help!.

VJ, in looking at the 8/12 reply above on the possible 1907 manifest provided on Angelo, I was interested in the destination entry below the one you indicated "joining father Pasquale" but could only dicipher something about 14th St in Phila. Can you help with the rest of the entry? Grazia tanti!

Hi!
Here's a blow-up of that part of the manifest
1907 manifest
The address (3 entries up from the bottom) looks like 727 South 17th Street?
It looks like it's in several places...
