Thank your quick reply! I think the meaning of the name is close to the verb curare "to cure"? Is this correct? Does Curasi name originate from Sicily? What regions?

I am also very much interested in family history. My grandfather's name was Anthony Curasi and he was born in Sicily I believe - around 1905?. Unfortunately, I don't have much information on his family. He came to the USA at some point and married an Italian American woman and they had 6 kids.

I look forward to hearing from you - Grazie!

Members can perform a thorough search in US records which may reveal the exact town of origin. What was his wife's name, maiden if you know it. Children? Birth dates for all, even a year can be helpful. In which US state did he reside? With this information we can confirm records for your family and not those of another immigrant who happens to have the same name.

Curasi is not very popular, there are only 34 entries in the White Pages http://www.paginebianche.it/execute.cgi ... =&dv=&ind=
and they are spread all over Italy

Thanks! Anthony Curasi born in Sicily around 1905 and died about 1952. He came to the USA at some point and lived in New Jersey and Brooklyn. Married Marion Vecchio(?). They had 3 boys (Dennis, Anthony, Robert) and 3 girls (Mary, Theresa, Cathy). Unfortunately, that's all the information I have. Is there a strong possibility that everyone with the surname Curasi is related in some way since it is an uncommon name? Thank you!!
