I have read that FRanceschi and the derivatives of it mean French in origin. Is this correct? I also remember seeing at one time that the President of France, not the Prime Minister had the last name of FRanceschi. Is this also correct?

Franchi is a surname listed in the Italian surname dictionary and derivations, variations or alterations of the base name Franchi franch, ....endings such as elle, ello, etti, ettoina, ini, itti are also dervied from Franchi. And yes they all revert back to original Franks in medieval and older part of what is now france. Peter
