Guttilla and Ricca

Postby Cavecreekmommy » 13 Nov 2009, 20:18

Hi:

I'm looking for information on my great-grandfather Orazio Guttilla who came from Ciminna, Palermo.

I'm also looking for any information on my great-grandmother's side of the family which is from Santa Margherita, Agrigento.

Thanks,
Bethany

I am looking to find more information on my family in Sicily and if possible get in contact with any family members still there. My search is two fold; to gather information for my family tree, and to get into contact with long lost relatives.[

Hello Bethany!
I was looking at your "Aratico Family Tree" pages on ancestry. com and was wondering if you had found any other records for Orazio Guttilla?
You have linked his 1912 manifest (2nd trip), 1930 census and 1942 WWII Card
We can help you locate his WWI Card & other census records if you'd like.
They may contain a few more clues to his parents.

Yes, I was utilizing ancestory.com while I had a trial membership. I had to cancel because I couldn't afford the membership. I was also getting very confused with some of the records. I think I attached some records to family members that aren't even my family.

Anyway, I don't know Orazio's parents names. From what I had heard, he moved to New York because his brother was first born and was going to inherit the land in Sicily. I thought Orazio came over by himself, I'm not sure. I know he went back to Sicily to visit.

I know he owned a bar and grill in Brooklyn but don't know the name of it.

Thank you so much for your help.

Blessings,
Bethany
