Help with surname Vivacco

Postby Squigy » 17 Nov 2009, 09:11

I finally got my great great grandmother's (Maria Romito) obit today, and it has her parents names on; it Lorenzo and Frances Vivacco Romito. I looked up Vivacco and wasn't able to find ANYTHING about it. The obit spelled her father's name Rometa but, it's really Romito so they could have gotten this wrong too. Can anyone think of a name similar to Vivacco?
My Italian surnames:

Caserta: Maietta, Rossano, Tessitore, Negro, Peluso, Musone

Campobasso: D'Andrea, Barile

Catanzaro: Fiorelli/Fiorillo, Romito

There is a single listing in the current Italian telephone directory for "Vivaccio" in comune Gricignano Di Aversa (CE).

It is the only spelling variant I could think of.

Thanks Suanj. I looked up the name on that website that shows how common names are by area, and there seem to be a lot of Vivacquas where she is from, San Mango d'Aquino.

Vivacco is listed as a first name with Romito as a last name...or am I missing something. The inquirer stated that her GGgrandmother's name is maria Romito.. The closest first name is Vivanco/a=Peter=

Vivacco is listed as Maria Fiorelli's (nee Romito) mother's maiden name. So the obit says Maria Romito is the daughter of Lorenzo Romito and Frances (Francesca) Vivacco. Actually it misspelled her father's name too, it spelled it Rometa. I think Vivacqua makes complete sense, I guess I'll find out when I get Maria's birth cert.
