Hello Rudy
Do you have all of your US and Italian records?
Are you only looking to make a connection with possible relatives?
Thank you,
Valarie

Hello:
I have all US records on my grandfather.
No records on his family as he came to the US alone.
I have his mother's name, she came to visit him 1930 and gave a son (Enrico) as only famely member in Italy.
I'm not interest in making contact with anyone (it would be nice). What I would realy like to know info on this father and mother, where they were born and when. Also the names of his siblings, it is said he had 3 sisters and the brother Enrico. I do have a copy of Dorotea's passport.
Thanks for the reply.

Rudy,
You could write to Trieste for his birth record (act) as a start
Birth acts not only have parent's names & ages, but sometimes occupations, where they're from

For reference, I looked at his mother's 1930 manifest
1930 manifest
page 2

It states her name as Dorotea Zanin w. Barthol, 69
- widow
- born in Aiello Udine
probably Aiello del Friuli, Province of Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia
- in Trieste daughter Luigia Paulizza at 1 Via Prato
(there is an address you can google: Via del Prato 1, 34127 Trieste, Italy for a map and satellite picture)
- in US before, Norfolk 1919-1923
---

Also for reference, previous manifest in 1920

Son Enrico in Trieste
Born in "Jelo" (probably Aiello)

1920 manifest
page 2
---

for his mother's birth act you could try this address:

Comune di Aiello del Friuli
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Cavour 27
33041 Aiello del Friuli UD
ITALY

Dear Valarie:
Thank you for this address. I'll give it a try.
I have been stumbling for over 35 years, off and on, trying to get this info.
I'm 73 years old and would love to know about my Italian backgrown before I check out.
Thank you.
I have all the info,
Bless you.

Dear Valarie:
I mailed the two letters as advised. I guess I'll have to wait for info on Giovanni Bartol from the replys.
Also, how did you find that Luigia Paulizza was the daughter of Dorotea?
She must be up in age. That is good to know.

Regards,
Rudy

Hello Rudy,
Luigia's name is on page 2 of the 1930 manifest (previous post) as the person left in Italy.
