Help with Cosentino / Scutieri from Cocenza

Postby FliaArgentina » 21 Nov 2009, 06:31

I am researching my great grandparents from Cosenza, who married in Italy then immigrated to Argentina in the late 1890s or early 1900s. The one document I have is of my grandmother (their daughter's) birth in Argentina, which is where I got the information below. We are living abroad in a country with no FamilySearch center so I am looking for help on where to get started. Thanks in advance! Sam

Carmela/Carmina COSENTINO born in 1880 in Cosenza. Could be 1879, 1880, 1881. Parents were Guiseppe Cosentino and Rosa Maria Marsico.

Emilio Scutieri born in 1868 (Could be 1867, 1868, 1869).
parents were "Pacifico" (in Spanish) Scutieri and Francesca D'Allesandro

MARRIAGE - Carmela/Carmina COSENTINO married Emilio Scutieri - probably between 1897 and 1912

You may want to try the Cosenza Archives page for help.

Thanks, this is very helpful, I will search the Cosenza database. Do you or anyone know if there are any entire communes missing, or any major gaps in years (like from fires) to be aware of? Thanks again!

I am not aware of any records missing from things like fire but I do know that the site is still updating so you need to keep checking as records are being uploaded frequently.

Not sure if you've also seen this site but it might be useful to search for passengers to Argentina and Brazil..
