www.tuttitalia.it/sicilia/18-cefalu and www for Cefalu may assist you now or later. Please refine your inquiry. I have no idea of what you researched nor what your research objectives are for the moment?? =Peter=

by this website it are 2 Pasquale Greco both native of Cefalù, naturalized in New Orleans, LA; the wife of one was Rosina Bianca; the other no more info:
http://www.ustica.org/genealogy/usnats.htm

ok Francesco Pasquale GRECO was the son of Salvatore and Giuseppa CERNIGLIA (right); Carmela Maria TESTA was the daughter of Pasquale and Giuseppa VERDERAME ( right), both baptized in SS. Gesù Salvatore alla Torre church in Cefalù

I cannot find the census of 1900...
however for births and marriage in Cefalù you can try in Mormon's microfilms:

Topic Italy, Palermo, Cefalù - Civil registration

Titles Registri dello stato civile, 1820-1910 Cefalù (Palermo). Ufficio dello stato civile
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... umns=*,0,0
and surely you will find it!

You said: Francisco Pasquale GRECO, bn: 12 May 1863 in Cefalu. s/o Salvatore and (G)iuseppa CERNGILIA.

My database has this:
1964474 1870 172 Greco, Rosaria Salvatore Greco fu Calogero Cerniglia, Giuseppa fu Salvatore
1964474 1867 157 Greco, Rosa Salvatore Greco di Calogero Cerniglia, Giuseppa fu Salvatore
1964474 1866 13 Greco, Maria Providenza Salvatore Greco Cerniglia, Giuseppa

By the way, "fu" means son of the deceased...so it gives you another name for your tree: Calogero Greco and Salvatore Cerniglia!

Some of these might very well be sisters of your Francesco, but I will warn you. Cefalu has a very small gene pool composed of same names and very little creativity for new names. So you have to double verify with more than one record (matrimony and death).

I am one of the contributors to the database of Cefalu with a tree that includes Greco, Prestisimone, Cerniglia, Cimino, Rinaudo and once you start looking at microfiche, you realize that the last names are always the same...and so are the first names!!!! They married cousins and then their sons did it again until they were albino...no kidding!

Somewhere in the past your tree and mine will cross to the same origins...it just takes a lot of work. I am down to 1595 in Cefalu, but I am keeping my ancestry tree private unless by request due to many trigger happy people adding Greco's as if it's a rare name. Let me know if you want access or provide your e-mail so that I can send you my database, which is the same that is online, but scrubbed in every possible way and color coded.

I looked at the database again and it is incomplete and made by those who are searching a particular last name in a particular date. There is nothing for births in 1863 or for the Testa last name.

I only combed the database for Greco and for specific people of my tree.

But you have the dates and places. My suggestion is to hire someone through Expert Connect in Ancestry (or some other way) and let them sift through microfiche.

I am fluent in Italian but I will tell you that it is not easy for someone without the language skill, or without the time and patience to do it.

But right now LDS microfiche is the only help yo will get for what you want.

Gerald
