Thomas Ubaldo Manzetti

Postby bandkconway » 09 Jan 2010, 22:59

I am looking for information on Thomas Ubaldo Manzetti. Born 1884 in Visso, Marche, Italy. He came to the U.S. about 1905. His wife was Iside Foccaci from Preci, Italy. I've found her on the Ellis Island website. But nothing for Thomas Manzetti.

Thomas might have had a brother Peter who lived with him. I've found Thomas and Iside in the 1910 U.S. census living in Beaver Falls, PA.

Thomas's last name might not have been exactly Manzetti. My grandmother (Thomas's oldest child) said that the last name was something like "mangeotti" or "manzette"

Thanks for any help, KMC

Hi!

If you'll do a search on Ellis Island
http://stevemorse.org/ellis2/ellisgold.html

using only
the town Visso
last name beginning with M
from Italy

I think you'll find both manifests
one will be Tommaso headed to WVa,
the other will be Pietro

1910 manifest
page 2

18 Feb 1910, SS Barbarosa, Genoa to NY
Pietro Magnascuitti (probably should be Magnasciutto)
joining his brother Tommaso in Beaver Falls

Also, from HeritageQuest
This may be one of Thomas Ubaldo Manzetti's nephews

Thanks for the info. I found Pietro on the Ellis website. But I was unable to find the Tommaso headed to WVA. What am I doing wrong? The stevemorse.com website was nice to use--I checked everyone who came from Visso with it. But still no Tommaso.

vj--belated thanks--I believe that this is my great-grandfather. He actually came to the U.S. on the same boat as my great-grandmother! I've sent in an alternative name to ancestry.com. The transcription is so wide of the mark. Thanks again for your help. No way I would have found it without you.
