Maderino & Melone

Postby snillocr » 07 Feb 2010, 03:12

I am looking for any information on Saverio Manderino and Marianna Melone who lived in either Sorrento or Massa Lubrense. Saverio was born in 1877 and Marianna in about 1878. They came to the United States in 1905. Marianna had at least 3 siblings, Francesco, Nicola and Teresa. I do not have any additional information on them.

Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Here is a manifest for Marianna Melone from Massa Lubrense who was going to a brother Nicola. Can you confirm if this is your Marianna?

These are my great grandparents and yes, that is her. Saverio is listed separately as a sailor. Marianna traveled back to Italy in 1909 with her 3 children but without Saverio.

Basically their early lives in Italy. Whether or not they had any siblings and their birth places. I do know that Marianna had at least 3 other siblings, Francesco, Nicola and Teresa and I was able to trace Francesco, but I was unable to find any information on Nicola and Teresa. I haven't found any info on Saverio. There is also a conflict about their birth places. Some family members say Sorrento and others say Massa Lubrense.

See if you can follow these manifests and if they make sense.

Amadeo Melone going to Uncle Saverio Manderino.

Francesco Melone and much family going to son Amedeo.
