zandona

Postby roant » 26 Apr 2010, 22:47

I am looking for information on the Zandona family. My grandfather was born in 1896 in st. croce de milagro. His name was Ambrogio. He had a sister Mary, Ida, and brothers.
Also my grandmother Rosa was from the same place. She was born in 1902. Her maiden name was Tartaglia. Her father was Pasquale. She had a brother Nunzio who went to America with her on 5/18/21. I know she left sisters there.
I don't know where to go to look to find the family that is still there and the ancesters who used to live there.

I found no listings for Zandona in the phone book in S. Croce di Magliano, but there are 22 listings for Tartaglia.

You might want to write to one, or more of these persons and inquire about others who might have known, or knew of, your grandmother's family. Here is a link for a form letter in Italian to write to possible relatives.

You can go to your nearest Mormon church family historylibrary (www.familysearch.org) and rent out microfilm for Santa Croce di Magliano for about $5.00 coivering all births, marrriagtes and deaths from 1809 to 1900

Bring along the book DISCOVERING YOUR ITALIAN ANCESTORS by Lynn Nelson which is a companion for the films. =Peter=
