Michele Palmieri from Corbara Italy to Connecticut

Postby misschristi16 » 27 Apr 2010, 16:32

I have some information that would lead me to believe my grandfather had a brother named Michele or Michael

I believe he has a war registration card on ANcestry.com, I just cannot get a copy of it without paying for a membership, and I cannot do that right now. I was wondering if someone out there could send me a copy of his WWI registration card to see if it is a match for a long lost uncle.

It says his date of birth is 1878 and lived in Bridgeport city CT.

ANy other information would be most helpful, if anyone knows some resources that I am not aware of.

I have 2 ellis island manifests that show my grandfather and uncle Orazio came to america to join a brother Michele. Just to many to sort thru --but, this one looks like it may be who I am looking for.

If someone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

Christi, if this is Michele Palmieri's 1912 manifest, the WWI Card may not be his

Interesting!
I know that Orazio came once to america in 1907 to visit his brother Michele--then returned to Italy--the first manifest we found states that. He then came to america in 1914 to stay--to meet my grandfather luigi, and Orazio died in 1918 in Connecticut.

This manifest you sent states Michele joined his brother Orazio in CT in 1912, and it also states that he was in CT for a period of 11 years. Grandpa Luigi, was in America in november 1912--and joined Michele at that time.

is the date 1912 or 1917? One page looks like a 7 and the other says 1912. Big puzzle! I may have opened a big can of worms! LOL!!
