Searching for 1930s Ohio Obituary?

Postby Laurenadi » 12 May 2010, 20:28

Looking for Great-Great Grandmother's obituary.
She died in Cuyhoga County, Ohio in 1934.
Her name was Mariasanta Zitiello (nee Isabella).

Thank you so much.

Is that all the detail you have? Do you know the exact date and city where she resided at the time?

I don't have much else except that she lived in Cleveland, Ohio and her husband's name was Joseph Zitiello.

Hmmm.. looks like you do have date/city information: http://www.italgen.com/Forums/viewtopic/p=120257.html

I have had good results by contacting the research desk at local public libraries and asking them to review their newspaper archives. You might try the same.

Yes, yes! That's Uncle Joseph!
Remarkably enough, I've also been looking for that article and you found it for me!
Thank you so much!

http://www.cpl.org/necrology
This is the website for the Cleveland Public Library's necrology files. You can put in the last name as a Keyword, and you'll find lots of death notices with the Zitiello name.

Hello all! I just wanted to add that I've had great sucess with Summit County area obituaries from the Akron Summit County Library System. (Cuyahoga Falls is in Summit County I believe)
Looks like you may have already found what you needed but for future reference for anyone:
