Laura, I'm really sorry to hear about all the difficulty you are having. I just received a response from the town. I have pasted it below so that someone may assist in translating it. Hopefully, they have some good information.

They are simply asking for your postal address so that they can send you the birth certificate.

I now have the name of Aniello's mother. She is Luisa Della Bruta. I checked on Ancestry and FamilySearch, but that name doesn't exist. Is there a different version of it in Italy?

Regarding the actual name, Della Bruta. Does this mean "from Ugly"???

Can someone please tell me where the name Della Bruta originates from? Is it in Caserta or somewhere else??

Thank you. After checking, that name is all over Caserta, Italy, which is where Aniello is supposedly from.
