Naimo Family

Postby 1vinnie » 01 Jun 2010, 16:29

Through the work of Hugh Tornabene http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.anc ... index8.htm I have been able to track down my Great Great Great Grandfather Andrea Naimo (born somewhere around 1820, married to Maria Lo Verde).

He had 3 children and my Great Great Grandmother. She married a Pavone in Palermo, Palermo. But, other than that, I cant find that many Naimos in Palermo, Palermo, Italy. I am wondering if they came from somewhere else and if anyone knows more information on the Naimo name in Italy.

I would love to hear (vinpav@yahoo.com) from anyone doing Naimo work in italy or anywhere else. I have a copy of a quick gedcom of all of the NAIMOs marriages that I could find in Palermo if anyone is doing research or interested.

hi,
as Michael wrote Naimi is a rare surname. From "Naimi" derived Surname Innaimi (my mother's Surname , born in Altofonte near Palermo). Others Innaimi family are in Morreale, province of Palermo. I found on ellis island manifest a greatgrand uncle Innaimi emigrated in Usa.

regards
I'm searching lost relatives and descendant of my greatgrandfather Vincenzo Genualdi (or Gennaldi or Genuardi) and my greatgrandmother Concetta Davola (their sons: Angela, Carmela, Antonio, Bartolomeo, Ernesto, Simone, Riccardo, Maria) went in Chicago,Ill., and New Orleans, in 1880-1920 from Sicily. Other family related : Jacobucci or Jacopucci (from Central Italy).
