Vivirito dimatteo families

Postby julwebb76 » 06 Jun 2010, 13:52

Hello,
I am a bit new to thus but I am trying to find information about my family. I am doing dimatteo and vivirito surnames.
My great grandmother was Rosie dematteo was born in Ohio and went to Italy married a guy named Jack ( giacomo/ giacchino)vivirito they hadmany children names are Antonio,Diego,Joseph,Antonia(Aka Annie),Rosetta, gussepina(aka Josephine my grandmother).
I would like up find otherfamily members. My grandmother came over via the SS Maria perch marina and arrived in USA on sept 17 in new York. I believe in 1945. Her sister Annie stayed behind in Italy along with her father Jack was born April 2,1907 and he later died on febuary 25,1948.
Her sister Annie stayed in Italy was born October 8,1931 and later died in 1965 from some type of stomach cancer.Annie married some guy and they had at least two children a boy and a girl but I am unsre of the names.
Rosa/Rosetta annies sister was born april 3,1940 and died may 25,1940 from unknown cause.
Antonio, Diego and Joe came over here to the USA I believe after their father had passed and currently reside in California in the simi valley area.
Rosie and Jack married in Italy.
I would like to find any family I still have in Italy or anywhere else.
Rosie dematteo vivirito my greatgrandmother was born October 15,1908 and remarried a Eugene snell and had I think 1 or 2 more kids. She later died on January 19,1975. Her patents were Antonio and Josephine dimatteo (something about they had gone to ciaro Egypt before coming to bus but I'm nit all sure on that)and her siblings were Nancy, Betty, Tony, and I think
Nancy had a twin named Dorothy and Mamie all last name was dematteo before marrying.
If you have any ? Please ask or if you are related or have any info I would live to hear from you!! I do have some pics also.

I'm so glad we could find some records for you
This website will help with surname spelling by region
http://italia.indettaglio.it/eng/cognomi/cognomi.html
The census records are from ancestry. com, a subscription site
The free FamilySearch Pilot site has many census records and a great Ohio database:
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsea ... html#start
For your Vivirito family you may want to start by ordering your grandmother Giuseppina's birth record - it will have detail on her father.
If you know the exact town she was born in, we can help with the address and a form letter.

Hey Julia
We can help you order it if you know the town in which she was born
Vital records in Italy are kept at the town (comune)

Valarie,
I talked to my grandmother today and she said that she was born in trabia. About how much do you think it would cost for her to get her birth certificate?

Hi!
You can write to Trabia, in Italian, and get a copy at no charge.
(if there is a charge for copying, they’ll let you know)

A birth certificate is called: Estratto dell'atto di nascita

Here’s an Italian form letter generator with instructions:
http://www.circolocalabrese.org/resourc ... civile.asp

Or other helpful form letters:

Mailing address:

Comune di Trabia
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Spalla 28
90019 Trabia PA
