Adattini ancestry

Postby RoseDido » 24 Jun 2010, 11:09

Looking for information about my grandfather George Adattini, he was actually adopted by the Adattini family when he was a baby in the 1890's I think. He passed away in the early 1980's in Maida Calabria.

You can write to Maida and request birth/marriage/death records for him, keeping in mind of course that his given name was almost certainly not George; possibly Giorgio instead. The larger problem is that the name Adattini does not seem to exist at all in modern Italy; this is a strong indication that you have a corrupt spelling or the entirely wrong name. Possibly it should be Dattini? Tattini?

If you can get the name worked out, the address to write to would be:

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Comune di Maida
Via O.De Fiore snc
88025 Maida CZ
ITALY

Thanks for the tip, Adattini is the correct spelling as it was my maiden name. My grandfather was the only Adattini left as he was an only child.

Thanks again
