Hello and welcome to the forum! :-)

While the above information will certainly help us...we could use a few more facts if you have them...

Do you have US records? manifest, censuses, naturalization records?

When, approximately, did Anthony (Antonio?) and Magdelena immigrate?

Names and approximate dates of birth of children...

The more clues you provide, the more we can assist :-)

ok well here is other things I know hope this helps out.

Anthony had a brother named Donato Cervelli who was born in Italy in 1868.

Anthony and Magdelena had a child named Sarah Cervelli she was born in May 18, 1919 which she is still alive till this day. I believe Sarah had a brother I believed named william cervelli. Also I have a guessed parent name for Magdelena which should be here mother I'm having a filling it's Anna not sure about here surname though.

Also that Antonio name you mentioned I have also been thinking maybe a name change occured or something due to them traveling over here which I'm not sure exactly when but before 1919 for sure.

I hope this helps a little more.

Yes, that helps...especially "before 1919" for the immigration date.

So Sarah Cervelli was born in US in 1919, right?

See what we can do :-)

QUESTION
Anthony died in 1918, and Sarah was born in May of 1919? Is that correct? :-?

You got everything right so far the hard part is trying to find Anthony Cervelli's and Magdelena Yannucci's parents it seems to end for me right there.

Edit: Also yes with the the death of Anthony. Magdelena was pragdent with Sarah when he died.

Ok...
So you have the 1920 Census for Magdelena and new husband Tony Falconi?

We usually trace back using everything we can find here in US...

Each document gives some kind of clue...
The 1920 Census (though censuses aren't very accurate) puts Magdelena's immigration date as 1910..

It also tells us that her oldest child was born in Italy, he is 12 years old and arrived with her in 1910.

The problem here is that the census taken was an AWFUL speller and the names of the children (8 of them) have some interesting spellings. Looks like "Sarah" was actually named "Vincenza"...

Do you have a copy of this 1920 census by chance?

Edit: Also there should have been another sister named Lily Cervelli which should have been older then Sarah.

If you are certain that you have the exact town in which Anthony was born, you can write for his birth record.
You should write your letter in Italian and enclose a self-addressed UNSTAMPED envelope.
Here are helpful sites for writing the letter
http://circolocalabrese.org/resources/l ... civile.asp
http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... tters.html

Address your letter to:
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Piazza Cesare Battisti, 1
38079 Tione di Trento (TN)
ITALY

In 1930 the oldest son (now called Fred) is head of a household of what seems to be his youngest siblings.

Lillian appears on this census (probably on the other one but her name was mangled by the census taker)

Was here named changed or is maybe that that the worng people here name should be Magdelena and she died 1924 making the older kids have to look after the familly which I'm pretty sure there is no Tony in the picture.

You will find that names are OFTEN misspelled on censuses... :-(
Often the census takers could not understand the accents of the immigrants. Often the immigrants could not read or write, so they couldn't spell names for the census takers... So you have names that are ALMOST phonetic in their pronunciation..
Gilina - could very well be Lillian :-? In fact, looking at the census you could make a case for an L and not a G at the beginning of the name.

Both the 1920 and 1930 Censuses above are in Wheeling township, a coal mining town.

Keep the records and maybe something else will turn up to prove or disprove this as Magdelena's family...

Meanwhile, if you are sure of Tione...write to them :-)

Cermunia should have been sarah's name before she changed it and the rest seems to add up I believe your on the right track. Do you think you may be able to get the parents of Anthony and Magdelena or is it a far fetch?

Imagine the hardship facing a young widow of 34 with 8 children in a foreign country...
She may have had the need to depend on "Tony", for the sake of her children...but unfortunately she died in 1924, only 6 years after her husband.
Probably "Tony" no longer wanted the responsibility for the children...
