this could be difficult...Signorello family

Postby ebart » 14 Jul 2010, 19:54

So, hello everyone. My father and I are working on getting Italian citizenship through his grandparents. Unfortunately for us, his father, Vincent J Signorello DOB either December 3, 1917 or 1918, was born in New York City and we don't have his birth certificate (we're looking!). We know his parents were born in Italy but we're not sure where. We've heard somewhere around Naples. I don't know their first names.

Vincent J Signorello (my grandfather) had 7 brothers and sisters, of which he was the first born in the USA, and 5 of them were born in Italy. Their names were Ana (oldest sister), Frank, John, Nancy, Connie, Salvator (oldest brother) and Mary. Of them Ana, Salvator, Frank. Mary and Nancy (we think) were born in Italy and the other 3 (including my grandfather) were born in New York. His parents died when he was young, father at 7 (approx 1925) then mother at 11 (approx 1929). He grew up in an orphanage and that's why we don't have a lot of paperwork.

If anyone can help us to find our roots with this little amount of information we would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks so much!
-Erin

Thanks so much! This definitely could be something. I'll have my dad take a look.

Welcome :-)

You may request a search of NYC Birth records to find your grandfather Vincent Signorello's birth record...

This may hold some important information regarding place of birth of his parents, as well as their names.... :-)
