Seeking Information On Agosta Family

Post by pslreale »

I have traced my great grandfather's heritage to San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily via the Ellis Island records. However, it seems that I am unable to find information after that. I'd like to know if my great grandfather had any brothers, uncles, etc. Also, I don't know his mother's name. Is there a resource that allows me to locate the marriage records / birth certificates in the Trapani area of Sicily? I can speak a bit of Italian, so it does not have to be in English.

Fortunately, the Ellis Island record of my great grandfather also lists his father's name in San Vito Lo Capo.

Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction using what I know so far? Here is what I have:

My Grandmother:
Virginia Agosta
Born: 3 January 1930 in Michigan, USA

My Great Grandfather:
Domanico Agosta married to Lena Agosta
Born: abt 1898
Born In San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily, Italy (Trapani Region)
Arrival to NY: 8 Aug 1920
Death: Mar 1984 in Highland Park, Wayne, Michigan, USA

My Great Great Grandfather)
Gioacchino Agosta married to ?
Of San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily
