Need help finding Original record

Postby 1vinnie » 22 Aug 2010, 18:51

How do i find an original death record?

My 4 Great grandmother Maria Anna Gandolfo is who I was looking for. I found a copy of the index records but I need to see the original to find out if it is the right lady. I found two different people.

Maria Anna Gandolfo died 13 Apr 1870 age 80, zisa is the office it was recorded in, volume 54 number 49.

Maria Anna Gandolfo died 10 Feb 1866 age 76, citta is the office it was recorded in, volume 1 number 485.

Anyone know how I can found out where I can find the original handwritten death records of these.

Hello 1vinnie :-)

Where did you find the index records? Was it the listing for a specific comune (town) in Italy?

citta is the word for city, and it is the beginning of the name of several small towns in different provinces...

zisa - I don't know - maybe someone else in the forum can tell you that.

If you find out the specific town, you can write and request the records...

Or you can view them at your nearest LDS Family History Center if the Mormon Church has microfilmed them.

T.

Sorry I should have been more clear. These are in the city of Palermo. I found these on the index films I ordered at a Family History Center. Problem is now i don't know how to find which films i would need to see the originals
