Conterosito

Postby leecourt » 02 Sep 2010, 18:22

Hello. My name is Lee Court. My grandfather was Ferdinando Conterosito who died in the UK in 2003. I'm looking for any information about his family who were possibly from Basilicata or possibly from Sicily. I would be very grateful for even the smallest piece of information.
Many thanks

Lee

If it's any help, I believe he had brothers Donato, Antonio, Rocco and Umberto and also a sister Victoria. I believe his father may have been Jose or Giuseppe and was possibly from Argentina.

As a start, the Italian telephone directory contains only four listings for Conterosito in the entire country today. Three of these are in Matera (province of Basilicata). The fourth is in Novara, all the way at the other end of Italy - quite possibly a transplant. See http://www.paginebianche.it/execute.cgi ... o&dv=&l=en

There is a reasonable chance that all of the Conterosito's in Matera are your relatives. You may want to try contacting them and see what turns up.

I don't care for them, but some people have had luck using the form letter to potential relatives found at http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... #relatives

Also, there are twelve Conterosito's with Facebook accounts. See http://www.facebook.com/#!/search/?flt= ... ito&o=2048

I have had some interesting and helpful conversations by reaching out to Facebook people; wouldn't cost anything to try.
