DeMarco family - Montella, Italy

Postby leetchie » 04 Sep 2010, 15:07

Hi, I'm trying to find some information on my great grandfather's family. His name is Carmine DeMarco, born July 14 1896 in Montella, Italy, and died Sept 7 1962 in New Jersey. He married Antonetta DeCarlo, born Oct 4 1904 somewhere in Italy, and died in April 1995 in New Jersey. They had one son (my grandfather) Charles Angelo DeMarco in Forest City, PA on Dec 22 1922. I know my great grandfather had a sister named Nicolina DeMarco (married name Macchia) who was born July 26 1883 in Montella, and died August 1 1974 in New Jersey. I think there was one more sister, possibly Alessandra, but I'm not certain.

I know a decent amount about Carmine in the US thanks to Ancestry.com, but what I'm looking for are what his (and Nicolina's) parents' names were, if they did have another siter, and when and where he married my great grandmother Antonetta. Thanks!!!

abt Carmine marriage... I know not, but by 1930 census Antonietta arrived in USA in 1920

... maybe I found the only probable record abt Antonietta(Antonia) Di/e Carlo:
New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
about Antonia Di Carlo
Name: Antonia Di Carlo
Arrival Date: 12 Jun 1920
Birth Year: abt 1905
Birth Location: Italy
Birth Location Other: viesti
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Ethnicity/Race/Nationality: Italian (South) (Italian)
Port of Departure: Napoli
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Ship Name: Argentina
pag 1 http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0015
pag 2 http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0015

in travel with mother Filomena Spinoso( married Di/e Carlo) last residence San Severo( Apulia region), birth place Vieste ( Apulia region),joining at father Luciano Di/e Carlo in Forest City PA( in travel with other people coming from San Severo and with final destination Paterson, NJ...)
Antonietta was married at age of 16 (by 1930 census), so around the 1921... the first child, Charles was born in Pennsylvania... so the marriage was in Pennsylvania???

It are some little discrepance but I believe that Antonia Di Carlo found is the right person; here the naturalization of father( Luciano) and Antonia was born the 24 oct 1904 in Chieuti ( near San Severo and Vieste), residing in Forest City, PA in 1921 http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/8749 ... zation.jpg so most probably married in Forest City...
