Passarella

Postby boris673g » 04 Sep 2010, 16:34

Hi again, everyone!

I've sent away to Italy for my Nardozza records, but in the meantime, I am now trying to find the ancestors of my grandmother, Giovanna (Jennie) Pasarrella. My grandmother was born May 11, 1914 in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania and is the daughter of Frank (Francesco?) Passarella who was born March 13, 1885 in Nicastro. I believe his wife's name was Carmella; however she shows up on census lists on Ancestry.com as Carmella, Madeline and Mildred. I have no idea what her maiden name was-but I have a vague recollection that my grandmother told me her name was Carmella Trucasa. I cannot find any information on a Carmella Trucasa at all-I also have not been able to find any information on Francesco Passarella's parents. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Hi T! Yes, I saw that manifest and the uncle's name is driving me nuts! I wish it was more legible-I thought it might begin with an "S"...

I think you're right!
It looks like the "s" in Son and Serafino further down the column.

Think it might be "Serra?"
