Looking for Info on Caporales in Notaresco

Postby johncap » 26 Oct 2010, 20:45

Ida Caporale was the only child of Arturo and Clementina to be born in Notaresco in 1907 and then the family left for Philadelphia. We're trying to get more info on Arturo, his siblings, and also for Clementina. We beleive her last name to be Pia but it's kind of hazy.

Hello and welcome :-)

Have found this manifest for Ida Caporale and her mother, Pia Dereletti... (looks like her first name was Pia)
It appears from the names being crossed out that they did not sail on this date, but all the information is there, including their destination - husband/father Arturo Caporale in Philadelphia.
Pia leaving mother Francesca Paratie in Notaresco.

Hmm, interesting, you're saying they're on this manifest but it looks like they never sailed?

BTW, thank you very much. This is truly amazing stuff. It did bring to mind that we had previously figured out that Pia Dereletti was her name but it got lost. We had a family reunion this past weekend and I've been working on the family tree and we were stuped at Arturo. Now having his wife's name again and one of his brothers as well as his mother in law, we're starting to piece it to gether a little better at the top.

Not "never," just not on this date... :-)
They show up on a manifest in December, but the image isn't coming up. :-(

Glad to have helped...

There is evidence they arrived the end of December.

No, all I saw was the certificate the Ellis Island will print that basically had this info on it. How can I find out who Arturo's siblings were and also a little more on Pia?

This is a manifest for Dec. 7, 1907 ...they also did not sail at this time.

Lines 20 and 21
http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... exe%3FT%3D\\\\192.168.100.11\\images\\T715-1056\\T715-10560265.TIF%26S%3D.5&pID=102152050191&name=Ida%26nbsp%3BCaperale&doa=Dec+07%2C+1907&port=Naples&line=0021

However, I still can't seem to get the image for Dec. 22, 1907 at Ellisisland.org. That keeps coming up is the manifest for SS Main.

You can write to Notaresco if you think that is where he was born, or he and Pia were married.

Write to:
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Castello, 6
64024 Notaresco (TE)
ITALY

Write your request for his birth record in Italian...

Form letters in Italian...

You can also visit your nearest LDS Family History Center to order, rent and view microfilms of the civil records from Notaresco...

They have birth, marriage and death records on microfilm for the years 1809-1899.

For the nearest center, enter your zip code on this page at the bottom...
