The other thing I forgot to mention is that Benevento is both a city and a province. Do you know if they were from the city or from another town within the province? This is very important information to help us guide you in your search.

Romano is a very generic name in Italy and Sicilia. There are thousands. Anything you can add to this, names dates, would be very helpfull in your search. Please see the link of all the Surname "Romano"

Michael, are you looking for family in Piazza Armerina proper, or anywhere within the circondario of Piazza Armerina?

I would think Piazza Armerina and the surounding area. I have come to find out that my Grandfather Lorenzo Romano was born in Aidone Sicily. His father was Salvatore Fillipo Romano and his mother was Maria Fillipa Ristagno.
