Salvatore Puma and wife Maria Rosa Carlino (born 1790s)

Postby rp76226 » 15 Nov 2010, 17:13

Salvatore Puma may also be known as Salvadore Di Puma. Both were born in the 1790s. Looking for their parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.. They had at least six children (Vincenza, Gaetano, Calogero, Salvatrice, Maria Concetta, and Salvadore). They lived in Racalmuto, Agrigento, Sicily, Italy.

This is definitely a long shot, but my grandmother was Maria Concetta Carlino DeFrancesco. Her mother died when she was young and her father remarried. Her half sister was Filippa. Maria Concetta married Francesco DeFrancesco of Spadola, Provincia Vibo Vialencia (formerly provincia di Catanzaro). Grandma Maria Concetta always said she was from Reggio Calabria, not Sicily. But people do move. I've been searching for Carlino ancestry.
Researching DeFrancesco, Carlino from Spadola, Provincia di Vibo Valencia and Polistina, Provincia di Reggio Calabria; Daversa from Accadia, Provincia di Foggia and Nesta from Leone, Provincia di Avellino.

The only Carlino I know about is the Maria Rosa Carlino I mentioned. She would have been born over 200 years ago. Her daughter of somewhat similar name to your grandmother, Maria Concetta Puma, was born in 1835. I don't know who she married, but likely she would have been too old to be the mother of your grandmother.

Thanks, I guess I was way off course.
