great-grandparents in Marsicovetere

Postby carolboro » 17 Dec 2010, 19:51

My great-grandparents, Francesco Sammartino and Luisa Evangelista,
were married in Marsicovetere, Potenza, in 1879. Although I intend to write
to the municipality, will they be able to tell me if they were born in the town?
Thanks for any help.
Carol

I don't know how to thank you enough. What a Christmas gift!
My greatgrandfather, Francesco Sammartino, became a violinist with the
Philadelphia Orchestra (in Phila.,PA). Amazing, since he was a sailor early on. All the first names have carried through our family. Since my grandmother told me that the Sammartino's had come from Milan, I just had to find out.

Thanks so much again,
Carol
