Hello and welcome to the forum-

This is a link for the town's website, which unfortunately is in Italian. There is an email address on the website for the town's anagrafe or registry office which houses vital records.

http://www.comunequindici.it/ (no spaces in the email address)

You might want to try emailing the town for information first (but in Italian) or you could send a letter to the town via regular mail. Either way, you should provide as much specific information as you know.

Comune di Quindici
Piazza Municipio 1
83020 Quindici AV
Italy

to help you write in Italian, you can refer to one of the following websites:

Here's also a website with others researching surnames from Avellino Province

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~itaav ... istry.html

There are microfilmed records for the town, but only to the year 1899, in case that should ever be of interest to you-

Registri dello stato civile di Quindici (Avellino), 1809-1899

These are available for rental through a local family history center run by the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints

I don't know that I can be of any help, I just found it interesting that the first time I log into this site I find your post containing my mother's family name. I just recently started researching my family history. My mother's father and grandfather (as far as I've gotten) are from Quindici Avellino. Their names are Angelo (her father)and Giuseppe (or Joseph her grandfather)Santaniello. Her father married Giuseppina Patranaggio. Her grandfather married Maria Lifta. I have no idea how much family, if any, is still in Italy. I haven't gone back that far yet, but hope to find more.

I don't know if you're aware of this....the Mayor of Quindici is Liberato Santaniello. How's that for coincidence??

Well I hope you find what you're looking for. I wrote down the information and will let you know if I find anything.

i happened to be browsing through older posts earlier this week and remember seeing one from 2008 in which the poster -- first names James, last name maybe began with a 'B', had uploaded copies of the actual 'civile' marriage records from Quindici that one could browse through. I believe he was considered a "master" user on the site. I am sorry I don't remember anymore details. I will nose around some more to try and locate the post.

Hello, what a memory! I did upload quite a few Quindici Marriages from the 1877-1899 period, for the surnames I was working on.

It can be found here:

http://www.mofrad.net/Quindici.html

If you see one of interest, click on the # to the right and it will bring you to a scan of the original marriage.

My great-grandmother Rosa Fusco was born in Quindici in 1898.

Hope that helps!!
Jim
