The Bellizia's of Carpineto, Italy

Postby ChelsBU07 » 31 Jan 2011, 03:46

My great grandfather, Antonio Bellizia (born April 20, 1896 in Carpineto, Italy), immigrated to the US in 1913 at the age of 16 years old. On the passenger list, it appears that his mothers name was Maria LaRosa (but I am unsure of the last name, or if that is all her first name). My grandmother told me they called her "Rose". My grandmother also told me that his fathers name was Lorenzo Bellizia. I would love more information about Lorenzo and Maria (Rose).

In Italy there are at least 3 Carpineto

Carpineto Sinello, province of Chieti
Carpineto Romano, province of Rome
Carpineto della Nora, province of Pescara

If you give me what Carpineto, I will tell you where to search
Antonio Bellizia birth record, where there are stated infos about his parents.
I hope it helps
bye Riccardo

Ok... you can write, only in italian to Carpineto Romano civil record office

Comune
Ufficio di Stato Civile
Piazza della Vittoria n. 1
CAP 00032 Carpineto Romano (Rm)

or you can request to loan to FHL (mormons) the microfilm
of Carpineto Romano civil records

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... arpineto++

this is the microfilm that has the birth record of your Antonio Bellizia b. 1896

Nati ed allegati 1888-1899 FHL INTL Film

I hope it helps
bye Riccardo

Thank you for your help. So if I write to the Carpineto Romano civil records office will they be able to provide me with more records of Lorenzo Bellizia and his family?

well, Lorenzo Bellizia birth record is a starting point, because you can read at least the informations of the father, from there, you can request the birth record of the father, where possibly you would find the annotation of his marriage, and from there you can request to obtain all the birth records of Lorenzo sibilings, it is not a esay thing, it would take long time and you need to be patient, otherwise you can rent the microfilm and you can easily see all the records of people born, married and death there,
I hope it helps
bye Riccardo

I hate to keep bothering you, but how do I go about renting the microfilm?
