My Great Grandfather

Postby rcaster » 13 Feb 2011, 23:29

My family name goes back to a Serafino Valerio. I believe he lived prior to the unification of Italy. Most likely he was in the L'Aguila area.

What can I do to find out more information on him. He would have been my great grandfather.

Thank you.

Hi and Welcome Did he come to the States and did he have any brothers or sisters? How do you know he came from the L'Aguila area?

He never came to the U.S. My father came to America in 1920. Valerio would have been his grandfather. My father's name was Pietro Castro. His father (my grandfather) was orphaned and given the name "Castro" by the state.
