Mazzenga, Alvito

Postby lmazzenga » 16 Feb 2011, 14:06

My grandfather, Gerado (?) Mazzenga, was born in Alvito, Frosinone Province, in approximately 1880. He came to America and settled in Philadelphia around 1905 - 1906. My father, Loreto Mazzenga, was born in Philadelphia on February1, 1914. He had 4 older brothers (Dan, Lou, Domenic and Joe) and a sister, Antonette.

I am intersted in making contact with any members of the Mazzenga family still residing in ther Alvito area. I am planning a trip to Italy in fall 2011, and would like to visit the area and meet with any reatives who may be interested. I have googled the family name in Alvito, and it seems there are still Mazzenga's living there, but haven't been able to directly contact anyone.

Any suggestions on how to try making contact with family members would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Larry Mazzenga

The best results come when you have done the research first and can give them the name of a person in THEIR family tree that they can still remember.
I just contacted a person in Rome and was able to tell him that his father's brother who went to America, had children who wanted to meet him. If I hadn't all the family information he would have denied the connection as he didn't know that his father had a younger brother who went to America.
I know a Mazzenga in Sora who is a musician.

Thank you, Ann. I will gather as much family information as I can, and then reach out.
