this is the family - thanks for posting - i'm looking for information beyond the census records. i believe, through ancestry, that i have the census records back until 1910, but i don't have anything else. it would be great to find a relative or someone else working this line of the family tree.

suanj,

i'm checking the information that i have, mainly a 1930 census, and frank and michael flacco are listed as becoming citizens in 1902, three years before your records indicate that they came to the united states. i'm certain the family on the 1930 census is the right family. do you have any explanation for the difference in dates?

thank you marty and suanj - i called my mother last night and told her what you had found and she was close to tears. my grandfather, frank flacco, rarely spoke about his family and most of what i shared with her from your research and translation was news to her. we were able to confirm it because many of the names that came out in your research she had heard of before, but had no way to connect them.

if i could ask one more thing - marty, would you mind translating the death record for orazio?
and suanj - i'm on your website now. you'll likely get an email from me very soon in that regard.

thank you again, mike

1910 census, already found, however for better explain I past it:
1910 United States Federal Census about Franas Brun
Name: Franas Brun
[Frank Bruno]
Age in 1910: 47
Estimated Birth Year: 1863
Birthplace: Italy
Relation to Head of House: Head
[Self (Head)]
Father's Birth Place: Italy
Mother's Birth Place: Italy
Spouse's Name: Avplian Brun

13
Enna Brun
9
Rose Brun
11
Franas Brun
7
Joseph Brun (brother)
33
Maggie Brun ( sister... no: sister in law)
36

well this Joseph Bruno was the brother of your Frank Bruno.. almost so he declared on the census:

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918 about Giuseppe Bruno
Name: Giuseppe Bruno
City: Philadelphia
County: Philadelphia
State: Pennsylvania
Birth Date: 21 Jun 1877

Race: White
FHL Roll Number: 1907526
DraftBoard: 2
http://img218.imageshack.us/i/josephbrunowwi.jpg/

no birthplace, but nearest relative the wife Nicolina Bruno; Nicolina is the right first name of Joseph Bruno, and she used Maggie on 1910 census...
the address is very close at Frank Bruno home address in 1920 census same street:
1920: Frank at 1232 home number...
1918: Joseph at 1133...

I am pretty sure that this Joseph is the brother of Frank Bruno in 1910 census....

why it is interesting this Joseph Bruno?
Because on:
U.S. World War II Draft Registration Cards, 1942
about Joseph Antonio Bruno
Name: Joseph Antonio Bruno
Birth Date: 21 Jun 1877
Birth Place: Castlmurio, Italy
Residence: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

http://img19.imageshack.us/i/josephbrunowwii.jpg/

wife Nicolina... now the birthplace is a dilemma... in the first option I thinked... Castelmauro.... but it is no possible... Castelmauro is in Molise region, and I think that Angelina most probably married at Frank because they coming from same area...
so we are arrived at Angelina birthplace....
you said maiden name: Vasculitzo...

NO, the right spelling is VASSELLUZZO, no doubt abt that....

Angelina( really Angela) arrived on 1888.. she was 28 old...

in travel with father Angelo (really: Angelo Maria, b. abt 1827) the mother Luisa, the sister Carmela( 20 old) and in same travel the brother Francesco Antonio Vasselluzzo born abt in 1855, with wife Gaetana and children: Angelo Maria and Luisa, same first names of Francesco Antonio parents:
New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
about Angelo Vassoluzzo
Name: Angelo Vassoluzzo
Arrival Date: 21 May 1888
Birth Year: abt 1827
Age: 61
Gender: Female( no: male)
Ethnicity/Race¬/Nationality: Italian
Place of Origin: Italy
Port of Departure: Naples, Italy
Port of Arrival: New York
Port Arrival State: New York
Port Arrival Country: United States
Ship Name: Chateau Yquem
line 42 ( Francesco Antonio line 34)

http://img202.imageshack.us/i/angelavas ... rriva.jpg/

if you read the surnames are all of Salerno area...

I know not if they coming from Stella Cilento or Vallo della Lucania, but it are the more probable birthplaces...
many of this peoples on the ship's manifest settled also in Philadelphia, PA...
I have no doubt that this Angela Vasselluzzo becoming Angelina Bruno in USA, when married Frank Bruno....
the problem is the right birthplace...

however back at the point:
Angela Vasselluzzo married at Frank Bruno... it is very probable that also Frank Bruno coming from Salerno area.. that is very possible... so, just a my idea:

U.S. World War II Draft Registration Cards, 1942
about Joseph Antonio Bruno
Name: Joseph Antonio Bruno
Birth Date: 21 Jun 1877
Birth Place: Castlmurio, Italy
Residence: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I thinked... hmmm... and if "Castlmurio" means Castelnuovo (Castelnuovo Cilento)??
I am positive that the birth area is right... and maybe also Castelnuovo Cilento...

but also it is possible, as last probability some other Commune in Campania region with "Castlmurio" soundex... I write my suggestions, but obviously I can be in error....

and before of anything in Italy we must search in USA... in Phila....

hoping helpful,
suanj
