Lazzarotto Surname

Postby lazzarotto4 » 02 Mar 2011, 22:55

I'm working on my husband's genealogy, and really need some help. I have not been able to find anything other than when they came here. Guiseppe Lazzarotto came here in 1910, and his wife, Virginia Zanon, and two children, Luigi and Giovanna, came here two years later. I know they ended in Chicago, IL. If anyone has any info on either surname, I would greatly appreciate it.

This is great information! I'll definitely go to these links. I have had the hardest time with his Italian side, and was running out of places to go. Thanks again! :)

Hi Arianne! The easiest way to explain the genealogy...lol. Your grandfather James had a brother, Louis. That was my husband's grandfather. Any info you have on your side of the family would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to work on the parents of Louis and James...Guiseppe and Virginia (Zanon) Lazzarotto. I have found some wonderful people on this website and others who have been so helpful. If I have any info you would like, just let me know. I would be more than happy to share. Take care, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Thank you so much Michael31. I had found Virgnia, Luigi, and Giovanna on a 10/19/12 ship under the last name Lazzarotto, which I was thinking was my family. I do believe the Zanon's had many of the same first names as well. I'm finding now that Guiseppe may have come here twice, once in 1907, and again in 1910. From what I've been reading, this seems like it may have been a common practice. Is there anyway of finding out if he did return to Italy for a time?
