Pedrotti

Postby bobnjudyabroad » 17 Mar 2011, 22:12

Looking for ancestors or family of my gr-grandfather, Giacomo Bonaventura Pedrotti, B 10/21/1846 in Magras, Trentino. His parents: Giacomo Pietro Pedrotti B 01/13/1823 in Male' Trentino and Felicita Gioseffa Marinelli B 07/10/1822 in Casez, Trentino. My gr-grandfather came to the US about 1871 and settled in Missouri. He left behind 10 brothers and sisters (Giovanni Gasparo, Maddalena Margarita, Maria Bonaventura, Celeste Felice, Angela Annunziata, Giovanni, Ricardo Antonio, Fortunata, Fortunata Virginia, and Virginia.
I am going to Magras and Male' in September to look for family.
Would so much appreciate help. Judy Pedrotti

Judy..
I checked all the Pedrotti that I have and do not have any of those names. My Grandmother was a Pedrotti and her father was Bortolo Pedrotti born 9/18/1847. His father was Bartholomous Franciscus Jacobus Pedrot (note spelling) born Jan 9, 1811.

Thanks for all your replies.

I will try writing to the parishes you listed. I do not speak Italian. If I send my emails in English, will someone be able to translate, or should I find someone hear to translate for me.

Also, thanks for the information on "Neonato" meaning no name: died at birth. As I've search records, I have seen this but did not know what it meant.

Did you try the site I've given to you: https://secure.natitrentino.mondotrenti ... 739&mode=2 ? They have records also from Magras.

You'd better write in Italian.

Actually, Neonato = Newborn, however, when the child was not given a name because he/she died at birth or was dead when born and , in the baptism record they indicated the generic term "neonato", some times "innominato" (no name)

Hi again,

Yes, I've used the Trento website quite extensively. That is where I've found out about all his siblings etc.

I will use a translater to send my emails.

I appreciate the advice.

Choa,

Judy
