Help on name (LaCalimeto, LaCalimeta, LaCalameta) Madugno

Postby LaCalameto » 19 Mar 2011, 22:39

Looking for help on distant relatives. Here is what I know, my great grandmother and great grandfather were from Madugno. Their names are:

Emilia LaCalimeto (maiden name Spagnuolo)
Francesco LaCalimeta

Our last name has changed several times over the years. Right now, the current spelling is LaCalameto, but my dad's aunt, Emilia's daughter, Ann was born with the spelling LaCalimeto, but on her marriage license it's listed as LaCalimeta.

Ann was born in 1915 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. This is where they (Emilia and Francesco) settled, but eventually they (I know Emilia for a fact) ended up in North Bend, Ohio, (near Cincinnati) which is basically where I live today.

Some of Emilia and Francesco's children are:
Vito
Angela (who I mentioned above)
Frank

I am trying to track my great grandmother and great grandfather back to Madugno and it's proving difficult due to the changes in spelling over the years. I wish I knew what the official spelling was.

Hopefully someone can help me out or point me in the right direction. I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thank you,

Brian LaCalameto
Cincinnati, OH
