Barone - Pollina surname Valledolmo

Postby rosebud1o10 » 28 Mar 2011, 14:52

Hello,
I have written to the Commune - Valledolmo and received a notice that my great grandfather Filippo Barone was born on 09-02-1865.
I also send info to the same place looking for his wife, my great grandmother Anna Laduca (feb 1865 -1938) but received nothing back at this time

I was given information on his parents as:
Giuseppe Barone and Crocifissa Pollina

What letter could I write to find out more about my family? What is my next step into looking into my family history?

Thank you for your help.

I would get the records for Valledolmo and check them myself
Why did you send away for records when there are micro films of Registri dello stato civile di Valledolmo (Palermo), 1820-1910 Valledolmo (Palermo). Birth marriage death records

Thank you for the tip. I did visit them today and some of the films are already on site.

I was wondering if you/someone had a blank Italian marraige form so I can study it, it would make it eaiser for me to read and pick out what I need to look at. Some of the writing is blurred and hard to read.

Your other links were of great help and I have printed them off for my trip on friday.
Marty thank you for your help
