Jack,
for bad luck Castelnuovo di Conza civil records are no availble by LDS....
nd the big gap is that, we have only the marriage record, so by that we know that Frank was in Newark from 1904 to 1915 surely; no censuses, no arrival...
I know as to help more... we must hope that you will find some other clue, and so to continue abt the search...
all the best,
suanj

Re: name of Frank (Francesco) Bangrozzo
suanj,
Thank you. Thank you very much for the great effort you put into this research and the very much apppreciated family information you found and sent to us. I could not have accomplished what you have if I had tried it alone. I have passed on to the Frank Sibilia family, the GreatGrandchildren, the information you sent me and they are thrilled to learn of their Italian heritage. They had wanted to know more about it for years.
I decided I am going to write a formal request by mail to Civil Registration in Castelnuovo di Conza with the information we now have and request his birth record. I have done this before in other parts of Italy successfully. I'll pass on to you what they send me for your information.
I feel my research journey into this family's history has just begun. It had been made very much easier with all the information you uncovered.
Thank you again,
Jack

Re: name of Frank (Francesco) Bangrozzo
Suanj,
The couple of times I have written for records I normally used Italian text forms found in English language Genealogy books. If it is not too much trouble for you it would be very helpful for me.
What do you recommend I do? Ask for the birth record of just Francesco Sibilia or also ask for Fransesco Bagarozza? I am not sure they will do Frank Sibilia's because we don't know the exact date. I don't blame them beause they can't do research for everyone and possibly have to look through several years for the record. I will do what ever you think is best. Here is the information I know.
Francesco Sibilia (various spellings of surname) stated age of 23 in 1904 so 1881 is approximate birth year. Father Fortunato and Mother Amata Maria Bozasso (spelling on English language Marriage record of he son.)
Francesco Bagarozza born 22 Mar 1892. Father Michele
Thank you,
Jack

Re: name of Frank (Francesco) Bangrozzo
Saunj, I thought you would like to know that I now have a birth record of Frank (Francesco) Bagarozza from Castelnuovo di Conzi. I had urged my nephew to make a thorough search to see if any old papers were filed away. Today he gave me a copy of Frank Bagarozza's birth in Castelnuovo di Conzi. It shows his father as Michele as we know from his manifest and landing in NY. It gives me his Mother as Maria Giuseppa Di Ruggiero. The uncle had sent for it when he applied for US Social Security in 1954. I sent for a copy of the original application.
This backs up your findings on this relative. I continue to look for Frank Sibilia.
Again I want to thank you for the great findings your research did for me on this family. I'll let you knw if I find out anything more.
Jack
