carmine raiola jamestown new york

Postby katieraeon » 10 May 2011, 04:54

Carmine Raiola, born 1880, arrived to ellis island from Naples in 1904 to Jamestown new york, changed his name to Charles Raeon. He was a shoemaker and married Mary Landy. They had at least six children. Clementine, Frank, Donald, Mary, Delores and Philomena, born from 1910 to 1929.

I am looking for his parents and or siblings.

also looking for the parents/siblings of fidele raiola. He married Justine Accetturo (spelling). they had 5 or 6 children Albert Raeon, Joseph(guiseppe)Raeon,Frank Raeon, Modestina Raiola and Theodore(or Ernesto). The family also lived in Jamestown New york.

I am looking for the connection between Carmine Raiola(charles) and Fidele Raiola.

Thank you

Katie

Hi Katie,

Carmine was born on 23 april 1880 in Baselice (Benevento Province - Campania region), I found his name in the military conscription records of the State Archive of Benevento:

You can write to the town Hall of Baselice asking for Carmine's Birth act which has listed his parents's names, the address is:

I just found this 1912 arrival manifest for Giuseppe Raiola, age 19, single, from Baselice, going to Jamestown to join his uncle Carmine Raiola. This boy stated that he was leaving in Italy his father Fedele (possibly Carmine's brother)
