DeCillis/ Ricigliano

Postby danielle1118 » 18 May 2011, 02:46

I am not having much success with the above surnames. My gg grandmother is Josephine DeCillis the daughter of Joseph and Anna Marie Ricigliano. Josephine married Joseph Narducci in Buffalo, Ny in 1887 and she died in Dunkirk, Ny in 1898(suicide). In the newspaper article of her death it stated her mother lived in Buffalo. I am having a difficult time tracing this family due to the variations of the last name. Any suggestions?

Hi Danielle, do you by chance know if Joseph and Anna Marie were born in the US or in Italy? Also, you state that Josephine married in Buffalo, is that also where her parents resided or are you not sure? Any additional info such as Josephine's siblings, the children of Anna Marie and Joseph, would be helpful if you have that as well. Thank you!

Josephine and her parents were born in Italy. I am unaware of siblings at this point. I have been unsuccessful with finding immigration/manifest records.

Do you have approx. dates of birth for Jospehine and her parents?

Did they always reside in Buffalo after immigrating?

Josephine was born 1870 in Italy. According to her death certificate she immigrated to the states around 1885. It appears they started in Buffalo, Ny and settled in Dunkirk, Ny where she died and is buried.
