Castle Garden NYC Records

Hi - I think I read about 1.3M records are not posted on the website for people who came to NYC prior to Ellis Island. Does anyone know if you go there, can you research the ones that aren't posted? Thanks, Diane

Yes, but they aren't listed. I understand that not every record is loaded onto the website. About 1.3M records aren't available on the internet yet.

If you will Be in ny you can visit the City Archives on 31 Chambers Street
There is also a national Archives office in ny that has Immigration Records
