Help! Need to locate census 1920, 1930

Post by lilbees »

I am at a loss to find a U.S. census for this family. Arrival, May 1913. Have naturalization papers, etc. They show the family was living in the Bronx when petition, etc., were filed and later when oath was taken.

Joseph was a shoemaker by trade and remained so through naturalization in 1939.

Giuseppe "Joseph" Rescigno b. 1874 Italy, died 9 Jul 1946 Bronx, New York
Carmela D'Auria (wife) b. 1881 Italy, died 6 Sep 1946 Queens, New York
Children:
Vincenzo "James" b. 1913 or 1914, N.Y. (depending on either the Petition or the Declaration)
Giovanni "John" b. 1919, N.Y., d. 1945 France
Angelina b. 1920, N.Y., d. 2006, N.Y.
Anna b. 1921, N.Y.
Raffaele b. 1926, N.Y.

I also have 1918 draft registration for Joseph. He worked for the Russo Shoe Store or company if that is any help.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Boy, those were spellings I would never thought of. They seem to be the correct census for 1920 and 1930.

I know Giovanni "John" died in WW II and was decorated with a Silver Star but am a loss for the marriage of Angeline and Anna. Raffaele is still living from what I understand but memory is lacking at this point. Haven't found a WW II draft or enlistment for him.

I found Angeline's death with her birthdate only. So am really guessing at this point.

But... thank you so much for finding the census.
